We went to the Bakeshop at the William Angliss Institute after lunch. I like these petit fours!
In case you are wondering, a petit four is a small confectionery dessert. It is a French name meaning "small oven". The ones we bought are petits fours glacés or iced petit fours.
And yes, they are yum. I like the cake inside the icing, which is layered and soaked in a heavy syrup. I asked and was told it is a sponge cake. It tastes almost like flourless almond cake to me, but maybe that is due to the syrup.
Just a suggestion, maybe the bakeshop can label the cakes and pastries with short descriptions, so we know what are in the lovely items that they sell!
